Charles's Story
Mike is the name that everyone(that knows me) knows me by. I've been called by other names, but that's o.k. -- Just call me in time to eat!
Like a lot of others, went to Joplin Junior College '65-'66. Wanted something different, so I told the Marine recruiter I wanted a summer job... about 4 years worth (He couldn't set me down fast enough!). Got stationed in Tennessee, California, Viet Nam and Japan. Did a short stint with S.W. Bell Telephone(09/70 to 02/02), Started Sho-Me Scuba here in Springfield, ...Expand for more
Mo. in '79(still "going under" for now). Did a few other things over the years, also(Trying to figure out how I found time do do everything). Going to take a serious vacation one of these days!
Married Margie Lawrence(from Smithfield -- over by Carl Junction -- class of '66) in '68. Have a son, a daughter, 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson.
Looking back, I think I might change a few things if I could... but over all, it's been good.
I tell everyone, "I'm not getting older, just more experienced."
